Young TPI

Network for young people

Young TPI is a network and foundation for young people who want to contribute to the transition to animal-free innovation at an early stage of their career. We organize activities and provide a platform for learning, collaboration and meaningful contributions to the transition.

Inspiring young individuals to contribute to TPI

Young TPI is committed to informing and engaging young individuals about the opportunities available to contribute to the transition towards animal-free innovation. We cultivate an open-minded and scientific approach towards this transition, identifying and addressing gaps or blind spots within the agenda. We want to empower young people to actively participate in shaping the future of innovations.

Representing students, PhD candidates and young professionals

The role of Young TPI within TPI is to represent the voice of students, PhD candidates, and young professionals. We work closely together to make a meaningful contribution to our goals and TPI’s goals and to integrate the interests and ideas of younger generations into the broader strategy. This is made possible through the funding and support provided by TPI, enabling us to create impact together

Young TPI organizes a variety of events, sometimes in collaboration with other organizations, where early career professionals can learn about the transition to animal-free innovation and/or connect to stakeholders in the field.

For example, members of the board visit a variety of education programs throughout the year to give a workshop, the ‘Transition Challenge’ to students at colleges and universities to raise awareness on TPI. In 2024 we organized an event that drew parallels between animal-free in science and the food industry, a webinar on navigating regulatory acceptance in the Organ-on-a-Chip landscape, and a webinar on the roadmap to animal-free science with a speaker from EURL ECVAM.
