Dutch Society for the Replacement of Animal Testing (Stichting Proefdiervrij)
A future without animal testing
Stichting Proefdiervrij (the Dutch society for the replacement of animal testing) is committed to a future in which research is conducted entirely without animal testing. We work with scientists, policymakers and industry to accelerate the norm of animal-free innovations. With courage, collaboration and decisiveness, we are building a future in which science and animal welfare come together.
Better for animals and humans
A world without animal testing: that is the goal of Proefdiervrij. We make the transition to a world without animal testing possible by financing research, collaborating with governments and providing information. Together with TPI, Proefdiervrij proves that animal-free innovation is better for animals and humans.
Together building a future without laboratory animals
Proefdiervrij works closely with TPI and is part of the core group and the transition team. We carefully monitor the importance of laboratory animals within each project. With clear communication towards a broad audience and the support of its donors, it strengthens TPI's mission and together we build a future without laboratory animals.
With its expertise, network and unique position as an animal welfare organisation, we support various TPI initiatives to enable the transition to a world without animal testing.
- Helpathons: Proefdiervrij supports meetings in which teams come up with creative solutions for an animal-free research question in a short period of time.
- Virtual Human Platform for safety assessment: Proefdiervrij co-finances and provides communication within and about the VHP4Safety project.
- Human Measurement Models: Proefdiervrij co-finances various projects within the Human Measurement Models Research Programme
