Hollandbio
Hollandbio is the Dutch biotech industry association and connects, supports and represents over 260 entities active in healthcare, agrifood and the biobased economy. We are convinced that biotech makes life better and therefore our aim is to maximize the contribution of biotech innovations to our society’s health, sustainability and prosperity.
Promoting implementation
Hollandbio is committed to biotech innovations that contribute to health, sustainability, and economic growth. This includes the development and implementation of new (disease) models that can benefit both humans and animals. By promoting the implementation of these models, we are working towards a world where we can develop new medicines, vaccines, and alternative food sources faster, better, and more animal-friendly.
Voice of the biotech sector
Within the TPI partner program, Hollandbio serves as the voice for the biotech sector. Our members include companies that develop and companies that use disease models for research and development. In addition to significantly improving the development of (bio)chemical substances, medicines, and food products, these models make an important contribution to reducing and replacing animal testing. We are happy to share our input to help with this transition!
Hollandbio endorses the TPI mission 'better predictions without animal testing' and the ambition to position the Netherlands as a catalyst for the (inter)national transition to animal-free innovations. We achieve this by, for example:
- Broadly sharing our stance on the contribution of biotech in the transition.
- Mapping out the challenges that disease models - and other biotech innovations - face on the route from lab to practice.
- Serving as the voice of the Dutch Biotech industry in the transition.
